These things cannot be replaced,
Not e'er what time wants to erase.
However fond or foul the facts
About these memories elapse,
These things cannot be replaced.

If in doubt the truths may rise,
However tranquil to younger eyes,
These things cannot be undone,
Nor scathed from loves not shown,
Until the burdened keeper dies.

The mind may lock these things away
Or show them to the light of day.
Whichever way the heart instructs,
These things shall sleep as life conducts
Its own interpretations of
How these things will happily play
